Endless Horizons
Ukiyo (浮世, "floating, fleeting, or transient world") describes the urban lifestyle, especially the pleasure-seeking aspects, of the Edo-period Japan (1600–1867). The ukiyo culture also arose in other cities such as Osaka and Kyoto.
In its modern usage, the term ukiyo "The Floating World" refers more to a state of being: living in the moment, being detached from the bothers of life.

Ukiyo is a Knysna 440 catamaran built in South Africa. She is a 'tweaked' version of the famed St. Francis cats designed by renowned naval architect Angelo Lavranos. She is fast with modern prismatic hulls, power generating wide beam and the highest quality finishes, fittings and workmanship. This catamaran has a stable configuration, excellent handling ability and Airex foam core vacuum bag construction. All Knysna yachts are designed to cross oceans in safety and comfort.
Unlike many production yachts, the Knysna is not mass produced, but built by a boutique-style company which puts high value in one-on-one customer satisfaction and meets the most stringent criteria. Only a few are produced per year and are clearly built with strength, durability and attention to detail in mind. The Knysna Yacht Company is based in Knysna, (the K is silent), famed for the dangerous entrance to the Lagoon known as the Knysna Heads, and being situated on the East Coast of South Africa on the Indian Ocean; their yachts are tried and tested in some of the world’s most challenging sea conditions. Knysna builds semi-custom boats and make sure that the vessel is constructed to be a sound cruiser where everything that goes in between the bulkheads is, up to the customer. |
